Healthy Eating
Nursery Menu Sample
At Smart Teenies our mealtimes are not just about the food. It is an important time for your child’s development. Once our children are ready we encourage them to feed and serve themselves. Which helps to build their independence and confidence. We also use this as a structured family type meal time to talk to our children. We introduce table manners, discuss healthy foods and start to introduce food and nutritional language. We engage parents in meal choices and support them when it’s time to start weaning.
Healthy eating guidance to meet children’s nutrional needs We follow the government guidance and OFSTED regulations to ensure that the food we provide to our children is nationality and follows any specific dietary requirements, food allergies, vegetarians and babies at various stages of weaning are all catered for. Our menu is varied and is prepared by an onsite experience and qualified chef. We regularly ask for feedback from our parents and encourage them to make suggestions that can be implemented where possible. E.g. menu

At Smart Teenies we do encourage breast feeding and have a supported process to ensure that this can continue when your child begins nursery. Our days are flexible so that you may attend the nursery to feed at the correct time. We have found over the years that it works well before starting nursery that parents explore different foods and textures prior to starting nursery. As this makes it easier for children to get used to all the different tastes and textures we will introduce to them.
